DreamWorks Animation is launching TV channel for its content next year, which will air in 19 countries across Asia.
The company recently said that when the channel launches it will have 2,000 hours of available content as well as 1,200 half-hours of original animation which is in production currently, which is enough to boast more original content than any other children's channel in the region.
DreamWorks Animation will also engage in programming and distribution, Company has partnered with HBO Asia for affiliate sales, marketing and technical services.
Through the channel company is not planning to show its popular feature films on the channel, but it will promote its upcoming theatrical releases as well as toys and other products based on characters.
Websites and applications will be developed soon to support this channel, said Eric Ellenbogen, co-head of DreamWorks International TV.
The channel is going to marks the first time DreamWorks Animation will aggregate its content for viewing all in this channel. Some of the popular shows includes How to Train Your Dragon, Hail King Julien, The Adventures of Puss in Boots, DinoTrux and VeggieTales in the House TV series. The shows will be telecast in local languages.
